It's time to celebrate the Franklin High School Graduating Class of 2023! Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing Senior Spotlights (in no particular order) for all of our upcoming graduates as we approach their commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 13th. Today, we share Tamia Phifer and Rachael Crouse. Congratulations to these seniors and the entire class of 2023!

Congrats to Jon C. for being selected the Flyer Way 6-12 student of the month for March and Mrs. Sidman as 6-12 teacher of the month. It’s a GREAT day to be a Flyer! #fpsflyerpride

FCCLA had an outstanding State Leadership Conference in Lincoln this past week. Our students completed a variety of service projects which allowed us to get the GOLD Chapter Award! We also received two other chapter awards for membership and affiliation! 3 students compete for STAR Events: Audra Goosic received Gold 1st Place State Champ in Focus on the Children. Allison Boettcher & Teagan Holmes took home a Bronze in the Repurpose & Redesign Category!

The Flyer Golf Team will be hosting it's Annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 6th starting at 10:00 am. It will be a 4-Person Scramble. Get your team entered today.

As we are moving into April, we want to make everyone aware of a couple of activity schedule changes. First, the Middle School Track Meet in Wilcox-Hildreth on Monday, April 3rd will now start at 1:00 pm instead of its originally scheduled time of 2:30 pm. Please plan accordingly. Second, the Elwood Golf invite scheduled for Tuesday, April 4th has been moved to Monday, April 3rd due to weather forecasts. It will still be held at Lakeside Country Club and will still be starting at 10:00 am.

Due to the amount of snow Kenesaw has received they have cancelled their track meet for this week. Therefore, the high school track team will not have a track meet this week. Their next meet will be on Tuesday, April 4th here in Franklin starting at 10:00 am. The golf meet in Cambridge scheduled for tomorrow is still planned to run as scheduled as of this time.

Due to the snow over the weekend the High School Track Meet scheduled for Tuesday, March 28th in Kenesaw has been postponed to Thursday, March 30th starting at 11:00 am. The same is true for the High School Golf Meet scheduled for Tuesday, March 28th in Cambridge, it too has been postponed to Thursday, March 30th starting at 10:00 am.

Actions Day is a scholastic event held at Central Community College in Hastings. Students take 3 tests in 40 different subject areas. The top 5 in each subject area are awarded. When everything was said and done, our Flyers took home 15 trophies! It's a GREAT day to be a Flyer! The following students received an award for the following tests. Congratulations to our 2023 State Speech Qualifiers. Trace Bislow (10), Eldon Haack (9), Madison Holman (10) and Evan Kolami (11). These students will compete at the State Meet in Kearney on Friday, March 17th. Good Luck at State!

Reminder we will have our Spring Sports Parent Meetings for those going out for HS Golf and Track tonight (Monday, 3/13) at 6:00pm. There will also be a Junior class parent meeting following the Spring Sports Meetings at 6:30pm in the cafeteria. Please plan to attend if you are in either or both of these activities. Thank you.

Reminder - Spring Sports Parents Meetings will be held for Varsity Track and Field and Golf on Monday, March 13th at 6:00 pm. If you have a student involved in one of these two sports we encourage you to come this meeting.

Congratulations to the following Future Problem Solving (FPS) Students for qualifying for the State FPS Contest.

The High School Quiz bowl team won 2nd place at the Alma Quiz bowl meet on March 6th and 3rd place at the Franklin meet on March 1st. Go Flyers!

FPS will host District Speech on Wednesday, 3/08. Attached is a copy of District Speech schedule for the Flyer Speech team. The public is welcome to attend. Go Flyers!

Reminder: Franklin Public Schools will have a regular full school day on Tuesday, 3/07. There is NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, 3/08 due to Franklin hosting District Speech.
