Your Flyer Activities for the Week!

We wrapped up a fantastic week of Read Across America at Franklin Elementary! ✨📚
Our final daily genre theme, Fantasy Friday: Imagination is Gold, celebrated creativity and the power of fiction stories. Students enjoyed a visit from guest author Jefferson Knapp, who shared how using his imagination growing up inspired his writing and how people in his life helped shape the characters in his books.
Each PK–5 student also received a copy of I Believe in You, written by Jefferson Knapp and Tom Osborne. A big thank you to Cornerstone Bank and Teammates of Franklin for their generous donations that helped make this possible.
What a fun week celebrating reading and imagination!

Flashback Friday!

This morning’s K–5 Morning Meeting had a Dr. Seuss twist!
Students rotated through fun activities in the gym, spending time with friends and starting the day with smiles and movement before heading to class.

Big readers helping little readers! 📚
Today our 4th and 5th graders partnered with Kindergarten and 1st grade students for some special reading time. When older students read with younger learners, it does more than build literacy skills—it builds confidence, strengthens relationships, and creates positive reading role models. Research shows that peer reading can improve reading fluency and comprehension for younger students while helping older students strengthen leadership and communication skills.
Watch the video to see how our students learn together and grow together. ❤️📖
