FPS State Problem

Two high school teams competed in the State Future Problem Solving competition at the UNK campus in Kearney, Nebraska. Franklin Team One consisted of Bethany, Trace, and Eldon. Franklin The Fab Freshman consisted of Isaac H., RJ, Allison, and Carter. The topic was dealing with a throw away society. Although neither team managed to place in the writing portion of the problem, Team One brought home third place in the skit performance part of the competition. Theirs was titled MeltingPot 83 - The Solution to Single-Use Trash.

FPS State Practice

The four teams that qualified for the state competition went to the ESU #11 building in Holdrege, Nebraska. They were given the final topic of the year, reducing trash in a throw away society. They were then given a final practice problem before the state competition on April 15, 2023.

FPS Qualifying Problem

The Franklin Flyers Future Problem Solving teams consist of elementary, middle, and high school teams. The Crossgate Community Church allowed them to use their building to complete this problem. They had a very similar topic to the one they had practiced with. It was a variation of the growing robotic workforce. Two elementary teams qualified for the state competition. The Freshman and Sophomore teams comprised (Sophomore) Macy, Bethany, Trace, Eldon, (Freshman) RJ, Allison, Isaac H., and Carter also qualified for state.

The Flyers' future problem-solving teams again went to the ESU 11 building in Holdrege, NE on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. Students from grades 5-12 attempted the problem. The topic they were given was Virtual, Mixed, or Augmented Reality dominated society.

The Franklin Public School future problem-solving teams went to Holdrege, NE on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Students from grades 5-12 can participate. The topic they were given was e-waste or discarded electronics.
