Two Rivers Community Risk Dial Changes to RED

Two River Health Department will be updating their risk dial to Red but recommends to allow continuance of in person schooling. Franklin Public Schools relies on their recommendation of continuing in person learning, knowing that our students are receiving a great education while in the building and we are using every precaution while they are under our care. We will continue our safety protocols going forward.

Please take time to read the email received below. Anyone who has additional questions can reach Dr. Conradt at the Franklin schools at 308-425-6283 Ext. 30

Subject: Two Rivers Community Risk Dial changes to Pandemic Status (RED), changes in risk recommendations.

Dear Two Rivers Public Health Department School Leaders,

We are so impressed with the measures you have implemented to protect our area students and staff. Schools have proven to be a very safe place for those in the building with very little school-based transmission of COVID19. Original risk based plans for schools included virtual school when a ‘pandemic’ or ‘red’ level of risk was reached. Having seen the strenuous efforts area schools have employed to protect their students and staff, we are recommending changes in school based plans to allow continuance of in person schooling during pandemic levels of risk. We acknowledge schools reserve the right to close or enact virtual learning if necessary.

We do strongly recommend school administrators ensure adherence to policies requiring every student and staff member

School staff are in a unique leadership position to reinforce the importance of mask usage in order for all our schools to remain open.

In an effort to keep you continually informed, we are reporting our community risk dial assessment has reached Pandemic (RED) status for this week. We will be reporting the rationale for this change with our normal press release tomorrow.

Please feel free to reach out to Two Rivers Public Health with any questions. Thank you for the tremendous effort you all are doing! Best regards, Jeremy Eschliman, MBA | Health Director
